New Activities in Hong Kong During Lockdown

With the Coronavirus pandemic taking over the world, times have changed. Gone are huge music festivals, packed nightclubs and football stadium hardcore end. This has meant that Hong Kongers have needed to resort to new activities, to be creative in ways to stay focused and active during lockdown. Here are just a few of the activities to have taken the Kong by storm.

1.Hiking (with social distancing)

Hiking in Hong Kong is still an option. From the Lion Rock hike to the Dragon’s Back hike, there is no shortage of hikes. Just make sure you bring your mask, plenty of water and of course use social distancing – luckily there are miles and miles to hike through and some remote parts of Hong Kong.

Hiking is still an option.

2.Growing Your Own Products

Whether you fancy putting tomatoes on your balcony or cabbages in your garden, now is a great time to start growing things for yourself. It doesn’t even have to be directly food or drink. Chill out with Feminized Cannabis Seeds, pot pourri or some typical Buddhist scents in your home for a few months before the outside world returns to normal. This can be a hobby for you as well as saving you money buying new products every time as you can now grow your own at home.

3.Online Football Tournaments

While physical sport for teams might have finished, you can still play sport from the comfort of your own home! If you have a Super Nintendo, a Sony Playstation, an X-Box or even an old school Commodore 64, then you can start playing games. Some of these are not up to date of course, but once you get into gaming you will realise that there are a lot of online tournaments now.

4.Zoom Quizzes

Just because you cannot go out on the rip and meet yer mates in bars doesn’t mean that the fun and the “party atmosphere” has to stop. A new phenomenon is now to do online quizzes. How do you do these? You log onto Zoom!!

5.Start a Blog

This is the perfect time to start up a blog! You can research how to become a professional travel blogger and get into the blogging game. You have plenty of time to prepare your domain, choose your title for the website, edit and write your content and add the images. Once all that is done, you can start promoting your blog to the world. Blogs are a modern outlet for your thoughts and opinions and with a lot of time, effort and passion you can turn this into a new career. So, find your niche and get writing!

So while it is a tough time for Hong Kong, and the world – don’t let it get you down. Think outside the box, be creative and get working on a new project. Once lockdown ends, it will be time to get out on the road again. The world can wait…
